Truel is a new language designed by yours truly as the native tongue of Bolil’lian, a fictional world in which language, culture, and cosmology are deeply intertwined. It corresponds to Hans Reichenbach’s (1947) theory of tense, which analyses verbal tense in terms of tthese hree temporal points. This allows speakers to express fine-grained temporal nuances, including completed actions, ongoing relevance, hypothetical conditions, and future projections.
Crucially, verbs do not agree with the subject in person or number. This design choice shifts the burden of reference to pronouns and nouns, simplifying verbal morphology while preserving semantic precision.
